Our 27th year will be filled with exciting and challenging classes for all levels.

Entry level classes; Introduction to Modern Dance for ages 6-8, and Modern I/II are being continued from last year and are offered in partnership with Corvallis Park and Rec at the Majestic Theater. MDT also offers class for Teens who are at the Beginning/Intermediate level. Dancers with experience will dance in levels Modern 4/5, Pre Advanced and Advanced Performance. These students will have opportunity to study with all three MDT instructor/choreographers as well as work with a certified personal trainer and fitness coach. They are also invited to audition to perform in several community wide concerts throughout the year.

Joining Founder and Artistic Director Donna Blatt-Ervin is MDT alumni Heather Fenske. Heather danced with MDT for 15 years before graduating to pursue a year of exploratory dance in Norway followed by completing a dance minor at U of O. While at U of O she performed in pieces by faculty, guest artist Mark Haim, and also performed at the North Carolina American Dance Festival. She most recently was dancing in Texas with Shakti Moves and Echo Contemporary Dance Company and performed with both companies at the Austin Dance Festival. Heather is thrilled to return to teach technique and build repertoire for the dancers of MDT.

Alumni Kayleigh Ellenburg returns for her fifth year as instructor. Starting at age 6 in classes with Donna at MDT, she  has been involved ever since at a student , teaching assistant, guest performer  and instructor. Kayleigh will instruct the Teens classes as well as  Modern 4/5 and Pre Advanced  Her well-loved  style is a blend of classical modern technique  and contemporary movement.

Alumni Audrey Ewing will again be on hand as a Certified Personal Trainer, providing guidance in strength and conditioning as well as assisting with any injuries with holistic methods and gentle therapeutic exercises.

 Performance opportunities for those dancers who wish to pursue dance at a higher level begin right at the beginning of our year with Making Spirits Bright on Dec 2.  The Terpsichore concert on Mar 3, 2018 and Dance Gallery in April are two other community wide concerts where we will once again perform.

All MDT and Park and Rec dancers are invited to dance in our 27th Annual Spring Recital on June 15 and 16 2018 at the Majestic Theatre.

Our 27th year has something to offer a wide range of dance students from the Beginner to Advanced.
